One more light that needs installed. Maybe next weekend. 

Looking the other direction. Need to have the texture person come and texture our downstairs ceiling. 

The results! A well lite room with a new fan! 

Lights are in. Now to plug up the access holes. 

Holes for the new recessed lighting. Plus a few extra! 

After a bit of cleanup! What a mess. 

Onto the living room. Or back to the living room. However you look at it. We removed the rest of the popcorn ceiling downstairs. 

Also water made it under the sink wall and got the boards in the corner by the stove. We fixed that the following weekend. 

After a weekend of work it was back to new.  

We pulled the boards up in the hallway to the front door when it happened and saved them. The bathroom and hall outside the bathroom were damaged. 

The bathroom and entry hallway took a swim. To bad we were in the panic "ARGH get the water up" mode to have grabbed the camera to take a picture of our daughter turning the sink into a water table. 

What do you get when you mix and 18 month old, a newly plumbed sink and tiolet paper? In our case 3 minutes of fun that results in 2 weekends of cleanup.  

Across from the toilet hang this cabinet. Also we added new switches to seperate the fan from the lights. On order are the sink facuets. We need to find some brushed nickle pulls and hindges for the cabinet & mirror .

Flooring - Check! Woahoo, the whole downstairs is now floored! 

New light fixture and paint - check! 

Wow they make this handy little splatter tool for re-texturing the wall. Worked well except the knockdown ended up a little smaller that the surrounding. O well it will be behind the sink and in the end looks just fine. 

All serious weekend projects require drywall repair! Moved the plumping closer together for the pedestal and installed bracing 2x4 for the sink. Fixed the hole I made behind the tiolet removing the linolium and the old toilet paper holder that was in the wall. 

The linolium was a pain to remove off the floor! 

Even Caeden got in on the demo action. 

Typical first step: Remove all contents of the room! 

Finally onto the downstairs bathroom. This is what it looked like when we started. 

It turned out pretty good. The base color was the actual first choice but did no go with the kitchen by itself. With a little gold metalic paint and a brush technique the paint tied in rather well with the rest of the kitchen. 

We finally got around to painting the kitchen.  

Another angle with no flash. The tile helps tie the cabinets to the counter. 

It looks really nice! Now to choose a grount color that goes well with this tile. We initial had purchase a brown grout but we think something whiter with more contrast will look better.  

Typical tile install for us. Worry about the thinset application but in the end it turns out ok. Only downside is I need to remove the thinset in some places where it pushed through the grout lines. 

The tile cutter worked well. Despite all the little shards of glass, I only got cut once. Had to order this tool twice. First time someone stole it off the door when delivered during the daytime. 

This weekend we tackled the backsplash. Here is the before picture. 

Finished the end of the passthrough wall and painted. Alot of detail work now. 

Moved the light from the old table location to the new table location. Just need to get the light fixture now. Went to San Francisico and pick up the backsplash tile. Guess I know what I am doing next weekend :).

Here is a closeup of the complete sink faucet. The earlier pictures were missing the pull-out sprayer end.  

Need to install the baseboards. Eventually we will get the ceiling re-textured. Maybe sometime in the up-coming year :) 

Rehung the pendant lights after the counter install and cut them to length.

Counters! They are so useful! It will be a month before we get over the working kitchen sink.

Can it finally be happening? Yes counter install day! 

Everything is set to go.  

No more holes in the ceiling. Just need to tape and mud. While I was on lights, I side detoured to put lights in the attic. 

Also installed the 6" can lights in the hallway. 

Got the final light in the hallway installed.
